Dr. BOLA AKINDELE is the Founder and Group Managing Director of Courteville Business Solutions, a business process outsourcing and information technology solutions company. He has over three decades of professional experience spanning audit, banking, business development, and information technology. His leadership assets have strengthened Courteville’s culture of innovation, expanded the company into new markets, and extended its product portfolio. In 2008-9, he led the company’s initial public offering and listing on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, setting a record as the first business process outsourcing and e-business solutions development company to go public in Nigeria.

Bola holds a B.Agric in Animal Science from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), and earned an M.Sc. in Banking and Finance from the University of Lagos. He has attended numerous management courses in Financial Services, Human Resources Management, Logistics, Risk Management and Bank Fraud Control & Prevention, Information Technology Systems Audit, Strategic Customer Service Management and Treasury Management in Nigeria and overseas.  He is also an alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School, London Business School, and INSEAD, Fontainebleau. His academic curiosity culminated in the completion of his Doctorate degree in Business Administration program at the International School of Management, Paris (ISM).

Bola is a Fellow of both the Institute Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation respectively, the two preeminent professional associations for financial services practitioners in Nigeria. In 2014, Ravensbourne, a university sector institution in the United Kingdom that provides vocational training in the field of digital media and design awarded him an Honorary Fellowship in recognition of his pioneering leadership role in online learning in Africa.

Bola is an active member of the World Business Forum, Africa CEO Forum and the Commonwealth Business Forum. His other professional affiliations include memberships of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and Institute of Directors (IoD).

Bola has the distinction of being the only African on the Advisory Board of the Enterprise and Parliamentary Dialogue International (EPDI), a UK-registered independent, not-for-profit body set up to establish a bridge of understanding between parliamentarians and enterprises. In addition, he sits on the Board of the Advisors of the East Africa Business Network (EABN), the first time a person of non-East African origin would occupy that position. In 2015, the Nigerian Red Cross inducted him as an Associate Member in its Platinum category for his contribution in aid of medically vulnerable individuals, especially women and children.

Bola started his professional career as an audit intern at KPMG Peat Marwick, Ani Ogunde & Co. in 1987. Two years later, he joined the Central Bank of Nigeria where he rose to become Treasurer/Financial Controller of the Agricultural Credit Guarantee Scheme (ACGS). While at the CBN, he also served as a Bank Examiner on various occasions.

After gaining substantial regulatory experience, Bola sought new challenges in the private sector. In 1993, he moved to Oceanic Bank. Over a seven year career at Oceanic, he held the various senior management positions including Head of Operations, Chief Inspector, and Head of Credit Administration & Loan Recovery and Head, Commercial Banking Division at different times.

In 2000, Bola joined Fountain Trust Bank Plc. as the Group Head of Lagos Island Business Group. The results he achieved, earned him promotion to Group Head of Commercial Banking, and later, Divisional Head of Markets.

By 2004, after almost twenty years of successfully handling increasing responsibilities in different organizations, Bola struck out to actualize his vision for a company that would make its mark for innovation, service, and the value of its franchise. In the same year, he opened Courteville Investment Limited to offer corporate finance services and business process reengineering consulting to organizations. The company underwent a name change to Courteville Business Solutions Plc. in 2011.

Under his leadership, Courteville Business Solutions Plc. has consistently grown profits, and paid dividends every year since becoming a public company.

Bola serves as a mentor to many young professionals. He has been a guest speaker at numerous events on e-commerce, entrepreneurship, leadership, and technology and business strategy.

He has won awards in leadership and entrepreneurship and also holds the traditional title of Otunba Bobaselu of Ejirin Land.

He is happily married with children.
