Saturday July 28, 2018 was a day to remember as one of Egba’s illustrious sons and Group Managing Director (GMD) of Courteville Business Solutions Plc, Otunba Adebola Akindele, his family and a part of the Courteville crew gathered at the Alake of Egbaland’s Palace for the official commissioning of ancestral artworks delivered by the Otunba and his team.

The artworks which were physically crafted by Kenyan born Esther Odanga was used to redecorate and beautify the Idi-Ere section of the Egba Traditional Council. In an event that had the Alake; Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III, his wonderful wife Olori Tokunbo, the wife of the Governor of Ogun State; Mrs. Olufunsho Amosun and her team, Royal Fathers and other well-wishers present, Otunba Akindele expressed his joy for being given the opportunity to modernize a part of the Egba Cultural values.

Idi-Ere as described by the Baatun of Egbaland, Chief Kehinde Sofenwa is an archetype of an Appeal Court where a lot of cases are adjudged and the ruling served therein is what is usually obtainable in any court.

The Alake added that Yorubas within and in diaspora should always take into cognizance their cultural heritage just as Otunba Akindele had done by redecorating the Idi-Ere of Egbaland which had become timeworn and unappealing.

Otunba Akindele who was voted Lagos State Man of the year 2017 in his speech urged the three tiers of government and corporate bodies to embrace the promotion of culture and tradition as a significant step in preserving cultural identity and origin.

Dr. Akindele on behalf his family and entire Courteville staff appreciated the Alake, the Kabiyesis present, Chiefs and the wonderful people of Egbaland and also the Chief facilitator of the redecoration of the Council for giving him such a delightful opportunity.

The First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Amosun officially unveiled the artworks before the Deputy Managing Director of Courteville Business Solutions Plc, Alhaji Wale Sonaike offered the vote of thanks to close the event.
